Calling Cards - Terms & Conditions

Making Your First Call

Once you activate your calling card and accept the following terms and conditions, follow the instructions on the back of your card. You will select your own 10-digit card number and 4-digit PIN. You will use these numbers each time you make a call. To place a call from any phone, follow the three-step instructions on the back of your card. You will be billed monthly for calls charged to your account.

How Much Can I Spend?

Your calling card has a dollar limit of approximately $150 which meets the needs of nearly all customers. If you desire a higher limit, call National Collegiate at 1-800-628-8234. If you exceed your dollar limit, your PIN will be temporarily deactivated until a payment is made. Account balance information is available 24-hours per day by calling 1-800-628-8234.

Automatic Bill Paying

The use of your calling card is an extension of credit. You are responsible for all calls charged to your account until you give notice to National Collegiate to terminate your service. You will receive a detailed listing of your calls each month. The cost of those calls will automatically be billed to your credit card each month. We accept MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, VISA, DISCOVER and DINER's CLUB.

Where Will My Monthly Statement Be Sent?

Your monthly statement will be sent to the address where you received your card. You are responsible for any address changes. To change your address, contact National Collegiate at 1-800-628-8234.

Possible Fees That May Apply

Late Payment Fees: If you do not pay your account balance in full by the due date, your account will be assessed a 1.5% late fee. If you do not pay two consecutive bills in full by the due date, your PIN will be deactivated and an additional late fee will be applied.

Collection Fees: If you do not pay three or more consecutive bills in full by the due dates, your account will be sent to collections and a $15 collection fee will be applied. You may reactivate your PIN after paying your account balance in full along with any late fees and collection fees.

Returned Check Fees: If your check payment is returned from the bank due to insufficient funds, the amount of the returned check will be reapplied to your account along with a $20 returned check fee. National Collegiate will not resubmit returned checks.

USF Fee: This is a 7.3% fee assessed to all calls originating in the United States. This Federal Universal Service Fund (USF) fee is collected to help provide affordable telephone services to lower income subscribers and institutions. This fund is coordinated by the federal government.

Coinless Payphone Charge: This is an FCC mandated charge of $.30 assessed to all calling card calls placed from a payphone.

A Word About Security

Protect your 10-digit card number and 4-digit PIN just as you would a credit card. Do not share your PIN and do not allow anyone to watch you enter your PIN.

What if I Lose My Card or It's Stolen?

If you lose your calling card or believe your PIN has been stolen, immediately call National Collegiate at 1-800-628-8234 to deactivate your PIN. A replacement card will be sent to you promptly. A fraud investigation will be conducted for any unauthorized calls made with your lost or stolen card.

What is Fraud?

Unauthorized use of a calling card PIN to place long distance calls is fraud. It constitutes theft of services and is a violation of state and federal law. Fraudulent callers are subject to criminal prosecution.

How Can I Terminate My Service?

You may terminate your calling card service by notifying National Collegiate or National Collegiate may terminate your service for failure to abide by the terms of this agreement. You are responsible for all legitimate charges made prior to termination.
